Divine Laughter

I have a request for you. It will only take a minute Although, I shall warn you, in this you may lose yourself for a lifetime. Now, Take a deep, cleansing breath in. And on the exhale Begin to gently curve the corners of your lips upward. Mmm… This is the most sacred act of all. And if you dare to step into the zenith of divine obliteration Then permit this sacred act of a smile To explode into laughter. Let the vehicle of laughter release your self-identity. Lose yourself in the joy erupting from your belly And celebrate through the climax escaping from your lips. Do not mistaken this act for the sublunary and mundane. For at the moment of enlightenment, exhilarated by insight, Buddha laughed. And when arising from the consecrated waters of holy baptism, Christ laughed. For the most powerful prayers performed are laughter and tears. Accept the invitation of this intimate interaction. Roll over and let yourself be tickled by spirit Wash your heart with cosmic laughter. Dissolve the drama. Soften the edges of your inner rigidity. For this softening will permit your indwelling joy to shine through. And your laughter will be the energy that frees those around you from the trance of seriousness. The joy within and behind this laughter, Is the pure awareness of how free we actually are. There is an innate perfection present within you. Right now! We pray and meditate and practice not to acquire something we do not have, But rather to acknowledge that deeper part of our being and its inherent goodness. That is your soul. That is your heart. Allow these qualities of your heart to come forth. Gentleness. Openness. Tenderness. Sensitivity. Vulnerability. Authenticity. Aren’t these the mere qualities of Love? And when you are in love, can you not help but walk around smiling, giggling, and laughing? For no “good” reason at all? Oh contraire, my dear, This is the most sensible reason of all. Laugh with the joy of the light that is within you. This is the true meaning of your existence. Not stuff and things. And not the incidences we take so seriously. Allow your inner light to lighten you up and then let go through the roar of sacred laughter. This laughter leaves you with nothing in hand. It naturally honors each passing moment, It dissipates the illusory of our solid ideas, And it grants us the ability to live joyously and lucidly in this dream. Give yourself the gift of this transformation. It will serve to open and close dimensions of your vulnerability that you have forgotten over the aging years. Listen carefully to the invitation, as it presents itself in a thundering silence. Then let your heart break open to the depth of this laughing spirit that is you, within you, and all around you. Welcome, to the Divine Play.
