Slow Down

Slow Down ... Okay, good. Now even slower. This life is too detailed, too precious, too profound, To be rushed through. Cleanse the topography of your being With the gift of sacred pause. Slow down, my dear. Please, slow way down. Oxygenate your cells With the purity of your presence. Return back into the boundless, To the unhurried, To the attendance of this unadulterated existence. For the virginity of each moment longs for your patient, attentive love And feels violated when hastened and ignored. Lay one hand on your heart And the other on your belly. Feel the pulse of the earth, And the breath of existence. Will you deny love's threshold? Or will you love yourself and this world enough to punch through? Because, my love, When you open the doorway for yourself, You allow all those around you to be guided by your light. This human body you have been gifted, Where you can feel and interpret and understand and create meaning, Is begging to be melted into the crucible of aliveness. Dare to step out of the mandala of self-absorption And dissolve yourself into the dynamic unfolding of each moment. When you depart from mind's defensive narrative, You will get a glimpse beyond the veil of safe and unsafe And fall helplessly into love's protective embrace. Slow down. My sweet love, Slow way down. I beg that you do not postpone your full participation In this miracle of life that is awaiting you Right here, Right now.
